Ok, I FINALLY get why del.icio.us is so good. Took a while, but spending a week recuperating from a back injury allows for more webtime that is probably healthy! I apologize to everyone rolling your eyes at me for coming to this belated realization. del.icio.us rocks.

To explain my rather long absence from this site - I will simply say that STELLA BELLA SANDMEIER-STEELE was born 31 May 2006. (Her official due date was TODAY). She weighed 6 pounds 10 ounces (or 3.02Kg), 51 cm long and has been keeping us busy every since. Postings will likely be even more sporadic then they were before - but I’ll soon get back into the swing of things. Pics of the babe over on the flickr account - click the thumbnails at the right to head over there.
This is so funny, I just had to post it. Reading the New York Times this morning I found a bizarre article about a new form of Polo. Traditional polo is of course played while riding a horse. Little did i know that there exists also Elephant Polo (you guessed it, riding an elephant) and now Segway Polo.
WHEN Alex Ko and his companions took up polo, they made some subtle changes to the sport once enjoyed by ancient Mongol warriors, who are said to have played with the severed heads of their enemies.
Mr. Ko and his friends opted for a 6-inch-diameter Nerf ball.
And instead of horses, they chose to ride Segways, the self-balancing transportation devices first developed as a short-distance alternative to the automobile.
“It’s similar to real polo,” Mr. Ko said, “but without the manure.”
Then again the article was published on April 1st so could be it’s all a fool’s game.
Can’t even begin to track back the links that got me here, but have a look - it’s worth it.
Just found this site today following a series of links that initially started out at Flickr. Antenna is an interesting blog with lots of great references and links to other obscure and not so obscure sources of information and design.
I’ve found these sites most useful for donating to the tsunami fund. There are so many to choose from it was hard to pick - but here are mine. The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies and Direct Relief International which deals mostly with providing medical aid and supplies. Also Google has a good list.

Bjarke Ingels just called me giving me 3 seconds notice to get to an awards ceremony at RIBA. His office, PLOT has just won a prize from AR+D for the Maritime Youth House in Copenhagen.
This site is best seen with Firefox. I’ve made a few changes recently which have thrown the whole thing off in Explorer. Still trying to sort it out.
